Starting new job tomorrow
Today was officially my last day at Accenture. I’ll be starting work at Hitwise as a developer tomorrow.
I’m pretty excited, they sound like a really cool company. They do all kinds of analysis on the web sites people visit, mostly for helping companies with marketing.
Can’t wait. wish me luck! :D

Unscientific →
Mythbusters is pretty cool.. I just finished watching them foil various security systems. Oh and they blew some shit up too. Awesome! :D
I think they do a pretty good job of performing experiments using somewhat scientific means.

TODO →
Looks like I’m not the only one. :P
The Case Against TODO →
Personally, I’m in favor of the TODO. Sometimes it’s good if you’re “in the zone” and don’t want to get distracted from the task at hand or train of thought.

Reg, insightful as ever. Talking about recruiting as a classification problem… classifying people like you would spam emails.. brilliant!
As a job seeker, I’m well aware of the games that need to be played… If only smart people could send secret messages through all the noise to good employers…

I love hand drawn maps… I often draw these kinds of maps when I’m unfamiliar with an area I’m going to.

Reg makes a great point.. best way to write better programs is to become a better programmer. Good tools will help, but they won’t take you all the way.
